CLEANING ARTWORK
CARE OF WATERCOLOR PAINTINGS & PAPER REPRODUCTIONS
For greatest permanence no artwork (especially paper) should be hung in direct sun or strong daylight, strong artificial light, a smoky or humid environment. NEVER spray any cleaners directly onto the glass surface of any framed paper artwork. Art framed under glass should be professionally de-framed periodically to clean the inside surface of the glass and to blow off any dust particles etc.. With proper care you can enjoy your prints and original watercolor paintings for many years.
CARE OF ACRYLIC PAINTINGS
For greatest permanence no artwork should be hung in direct sun or strong daylight, strong artificial light, a smoky or humid environment. The acrylics used are the finest-quality, art pigments and the painting is sealed with a matte-finish painting varnish to create a controlled surface of equal reflectivity. Regular dusting with a dry duster and periodic, light, cleaning with a slightly-dampened, soft, lint-free, clean cloth will keep the surface clean. With proper care you can enjoy your original acrylic painting for many years.
| "The print is superb! Truly beautiful! I really love that one. Same feeling as when I first saw the original in Stratford. I am soooo happy! Thanks for the kind words. I am fortunate to know both of you personally, and am happy that we keep in touch. It adds an extra sentimental value to my prints, representing a highlight in my career, captured by a wonderful artist that I know. It does not get any better!" Capt. | What about fading & permanence issues? |
| The inks used in the early days of digital printing (using Iris printers) were beautiful but highly fugitive, lasting only two or three years before noticeable fading began. Information gained from extensive research over the years has led to development of a new generation of fine-art inks offering all the permanence expected of a work of fine art. Properly matched inks and archival papers can last up to 85 years under continuous lighting conditions.
